  1. SS: This whole drama which is happening with Saudi Arabia is happening because we have allies in Turkey, Malaysia and China. Our relations with Russia are also improving after decades of latent animosity. Saudis are not liking that IK is showing a backbone and is wishing to chart an independent path. Because of our geography we are indispensable to both Western bloc/NATO and Eastern/SCO Bloc.

  2. Now these are major geopolitical plays (much needed)

Frankly speaking, a Turkish-Iranian-Pakistani alliance has been long overdue. In the modern day and from the past with the three gunpowder empires, the Ottomans, Safavids and the Mughals.

Manifest destiny. The Arabs can suck a dick.

  3. Don’t get why Pakistan even wants to keep a relation with Iran, they are sanctioned heavily by the us, does Pakistan also want to be a part of that and we also don’t have oil, we really on trade with counties. Maybe because they are an enemy of the Saudis and considering the current relationship of Pakistan and saudi, its a political move saying “if Pakistan and Saudi get a bad relationship, we always have Iran”

  4. Quite a sweeping statement when you say “under no circumstances”.

I’d say the relationship should be built on mutual interest and benefit. Within these limits Pakistan should maintain its relationship with Iran and not be dictated by any other nation on this matter whatsoever.

  5. Turkey, who has far greater US/NATO baggage than us, went through with a Tabriz-Ankara gas pipeline years ago without getting sanctioned.

Pakistan’s excuses for keeping relations with Iran at a non-existent level are BS just like its excuses for its generally lethargic, un-moving foreign policy are mostly BS.

  6. pakistan has no future without stronger ties with iran, and iranians love pakistan. theres no question that the saudis are evil and they are ideological rapists and con artists. why would pakistan risk poor relations with the regional hegemon who is a friendly neighbor and significantly more powerful than saudi arabia or pakistan?
